In the second quarter of 2024, the Film & Television category on iOS saw varied performance across the top apps in the US market. Here's a snapshot of how these entertainment giants fared, with data sourced from Sensor Tower.

Max: Stream HBO, TV, & Movies experienced a steady rise in revenue, starting at around $13K and peaking at $20K by mid-June. Downloads fluctuated, with a high of approximately 28K in early June, while weekly active users consistently grew, reaching over 65K in the final week of June.

Netflix showed a revenue range between $10K and $13K, with a slight dip and subsequent recovery by late June. Downloads remained in the mid-thousands, with a slight uptick to 4.7K in mid-June. Weekly active users saw a drop in early April but recovered to maintain numbers around 170K by the end of the quarter.

Amazon Prime Video had mixed results, with revenues dipping to $8K in mid-April then rising to about $11K towards the end of June. Downloads saw a peak of 4.7K in the last week of June, while active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 23K.

Disney+ was a top performer in terms of revenue, starting the quarter at $63K and ending strong at nearly $69K. Download numbers were modest but showed an increase to 3.6K by the quarter's end. Weekly active users showed slight variability but remained just above 83K by late June.

Lastly, ShortMax - Watch Dramas & Show, while smaller in scale, had a notable spike in weekly active users from 1.8K to over 7K in mid-May. Its revenue saw a significant leap to $3.3K in the same period, but downloads and active users saw a downward trend towards the end of June.
